‘The Kashmir Files’ to be tax-free in Goa, says CM

PANJIM: Caretaker Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that the government will make the ‘The Kashmir Files’ film tax-free in the State.

The movie makes you numb, leaving you to introspect on why this history was suppressed and hidden from the people. The youngsters of India must definitely watch the movie to know what atrocities Kashmiri Hindus went through.”

“The film will be made #taxfree in Goa. Everyone should watch it,” he said in another tweet.

The Chief Minister said that he decided to watch the film after some people in the State opposed its screening in cinema halls. He said that there was need to bring before the people the atrocities committed on the Hindu community during the Congress regime in 1990. He condemned the genocide of Kashmiri pandits and announced that the government will make the film tax-free in the State so as to encourage people to watch it.

The CM also said that the movie will continue to be screened with maximum possible shows.

“I have spoken to the Inox management and the movie will continue to be screened with maximum possible shows,” Sawant tweeted.
