Herald is Goa’s oldest, largest circulated and most respected newspaper. It has always held the interests of this State and its people closest to its heart. Its readers know this, and rely on Herald for accurate news and balanced views.
As Editor-in-Chief of Herald, I would like to assure the people of Goa, that the Editor of Herald, Ashwin Tombat, is not going anywhere. He remains in charge of the newspaper and responsible for its contents under the Press and Registration of Books (PRB) Act. It is true that Sujay Gupta will be joining Herald, as editor of its forthcoming weekend editions, to be published on Saturdays and Sundays, starting Saturday 5 February and Sunday 6 February. On other days of the week – Mondays to Fridays, Ashwin Tombat remains in charge.
Herald is always trying to give greater value to its readers, who are this newspaper’ greatest asset. The weekend editions are one such effort. We are sure that they will be a hit with one and all. The daily newspaper will continue to reflect the concerns and issues, worries and joys, of the ordinary Goan. Herald is the people’s newspaper, and it will always stay that way. That is my eternal assurance to my readers.
