PONDA: Gloom descended on the Kamat family at Konar-Bandora in Ponda taluka on Tuesday morning when they received a phone call from Khed Police station informing of the tragic incident that killed their 30-year-old daughter Ajaya.
Ajaya, second daughter of Yeshwant Kamat, had left for Mumbai on an official trip on Monday evening. Ajaya had completed B Pharm from Goa College of Pharmacy and was working for a pharmaceutical company at Verna.
“This morning, we received a phone call from the Khed Police informing us about the incident. My wife and I had dropped our daughter at the Margao bus stop. The bus had left for Mumbai at about 5.30 pm,” said Yeshwant, while struggling to maintain his composure.
Incidentally, Ajaya’s colleague was also supposed to travel by the same bus to Mumbai, but did not board the bus at the very last moment.
“Her colleague was also supposed to accompany Ajaya on the official trip and was even present at the bus station. However, she complained of uneasiness and decided not to board the bus. Ajaya was to return on Wednesday and was scheduled to go on an official trip to Japan next week,” informed Kamat.
