BICHOLIM: The forest department staff from Pernem and Keri-Sattari forest outpost seized two firewood carrying trucks at Assanora check post and arrested three persons including the truck owner and drivers.
Forest officials said that when the staff of Pernem forest outpost was patrolling the area near Assanora bus stand on Sunday morning, they found two trucks transporting firewood from Advalpal to Mapusa.
On inspection and questioning, the forest guards found that the trucks were loaded at Bhedshi Maharastra and were going to Mapusa without the required documents.
