Thursday was Panjim’s second-most hottest day in a decade

PANJIM: The capital city recorded a maximum temperature of 38.2 Degree Celsius, the second-highest in a decade, on Thursday. The temperature remained 6.1 Degree Celsius above normal.  

As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa observatory, Panjim had recorded the highest temperature of 38.7 Degree Celsius in March 2013.

The highest ever temperature recorded in the capital city was 39.8 Degree Celsius way back in April 1989.

As per IMD, there have been 14 days from 1969 to 2023, when the maximum temperature recorded in February was 38 Degree or higher. 

The IMD has said that the maximum temperature will continue to remain above normal till February 18. 

On Monday, Panjim had recorded 37.9 C temperature and it remained almost constant for the following days.
