Tiracol Rakhonn Manch public meeting today

PANJIM: The Tiracol Rakhonn Manch have called for a public meeting on June 7 at 3.30 pm outside the Tiracol fort against the proposed resort and golf course project set to take over the entire village. Members of the manch have asked for mass participation in opposing the project, which they say will see the destruction of their village.

They have also said they would be presenting to those in attendance the true picture of what villagers were and what they will be subjected to.
Promoted by Leading Hotels, the project will cover over 9 lakh square km of the village that totals 12 lakh square meters. Villagers have raised objection to the manner in which the company gained ownership of the entire village and have asked for people from all over the state to be  part of the meeting.
