PANJIM: The Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) ally Goa Trinamool Congress (TMC) unveiled the TMC-MGP Manifesto 2022 on Saturday.
The 28 pages manifesto focusing on delivering 10 point promises to the people of Goa was released in the presence of Goa TMC President Kiran Kandolkar, Lok Sabha MP and AITC Goa In-Charge Mahua Moitra, TMC National Vice-President Luizinho Faleiro, former National Congress Party (NCP) leader and TMC Benaulim candidate Churchill Alemao, MGP working President Pratap Phadte and others.
Stating that the 10-point manifesto has been in the work ever since TMC made its entry into the State Faleiro said, “The manifesto is not just mere words but is a comprehensive outcome of series of extensive consultations with the scholars, lawyers, community leaders, social activists, civil society members and key stakeholders in various fields”.
“The document encompasses a comprehensive agenda with which Goa will be able to usher in a new dawn,” Faleiro said.
“We will abolish the three linear projects to ensure protect our heritage once voted to power,” he added.
Addressing the media persons, Kandolkar said, “We are neither Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant nor BJP to make fake promises to the people of Goa. TMC will deliver all the promises once in power,” said Kandolkar.
Adding further he said, “We will provide free jobs to the people of Goa, restart mining activities legally and work towards economic revival of tourism in State. We will focus more on eco-tourism especially in village areas rather than restricting the tourism to beaches.”
Few of the 10-point manifesto read, 80 per cent job reservation for Goans and 10,000 vacancies in the government sector, a direct benefit transfer of Rs 5,000 per month to a woman of every household under Griha Laxmi Scheme, a collateral-free loan for Goan youth of upto Rs 20 lakh under Yuva Shakti Scheme, provision for unemployment insurance for youth, two new medical colleges, upgraded facilities at the government schools and a universal health card and road accident treatment cover for every Goan household.
In addition, 33 per cent reservation for Goan women in all jobs including the private sector, 50 per cent reservation for women in all local bodies, two fast-track courts to address crimes against women and children in each district, title and ownership rights of land to all Goan families residing in the State since or before 1976.
Furthermore, pothole-free all-weather roads along with functional drainage systems and piped drinking water to all households as well as state-of-the-art sports infrastructure and training facilities in every Taluka, 24 x 7 public transports with a doubled fleet of State-owned buses, uninterrupted supply of electricity to every household.
Ban on LED-fishing and bull trawling, khazan land revival, scrapping of three linear projects, provision of funds for the preservation of heritage sites are a few other aspects included in the manifesto.
