Tourism dept issues notices to unregistered hotel premises

The notices have been issued under sections of the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade Act.

PANJIM: The Tourism Department has started cracking down on unregistered hotel premises across Goa. The department has issued notices to almost 11 premises all over Goa for directing them to register immediately or face penal action. 

Atleast 11 hotel premises from Goa Velha, Panaji, Candolim, Diwar, Calangute and other places have been issued notices. All these unregistered are directed to immediately register with Tourism Department to avoid penal action.

The notices have been issued under sections of the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade Act. The department has warned of fine extending up to Rs 1 lakh and also disconnection of water and power. along with sealing of premises.
