PANJIM: A 33-year-old Bihar native, working as tourist guide, was arrested late Wednesday night, for supplying girls to customers allegedly for prostitution.
A team of crime branch sleuths led by PI Veluskar caught him red-handed with a young girl whom he was supposedly travelling with to supply to a client in Candolim. He was caught from behind Lawande super market Candolim. The victim was rescued and lodged at Protective Home at Merces.
“We had information that he will be supplying three girls but at the time of the raid, only one girl was with him. We are interrogating him to find out about other victims,” an officer informed.
The accused, residing at Nerul, has been remanded to five days police custody. The CB is also trying to ascertain whether more people are involved in the racket.
