PANJIM: A tourist hailing from Karnataka was rescued by the police and lifeguards at Calangute beach on Thursday.
According to the police, on Thursday at about 3.10 pm, it was noticed that a male tourist was drowning in the sea water at the beach. The alert patrolling police staff immediately roped in the services of lifeguards Kamlesh Tikkam and Sachin Kashyap Nati who enabled the safe rescue of the tourist.

The tourist has been identified as Milan Ghanashyambhai Gouda, a resident of Karnataka.
