PANJIM: Days after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that aptitude test and career guidance will be made compulsory for students of class Xth and XIIth, the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has taken first step in that direction.
The SCERT has organized a three-day training workshop on conducting aptitude test and career guidance programme for teachers of the secondary and higher secondary schools from November 6-8. For schools in North Goa Education Zone, the training will be held at Ravindra Bhavan, Sanquelim, whereas for South Goa schools it will be at Margao Ravindra Bhavan.
Chief Minister had last week announced that aptitude test and career guidance compulsory would be made compulsory for students of class X & XII from the academic year 2020-21 in order to help the students assess their areas of interest so that they can chose and pursue the right career oriented courses.
In a circular issued to all government and government-aided secondary and higher secondary schools, SCERT director Nagaraj Honnekeri has asked schools to depute two teachers for the workshop.
For secondary schools the workshop will be held between 9am to 12.30pm, while for higher secondary school teachers, the training will take place from 2pm to 5pm.
