Director of Sports and Youth Affairs Dr. Ajay R. Gaude has stressed that the true success of a tree plantation drive lies not merely in planting saplings but in ensuring their long-term survival and growth.
Speaking during a tree plantation programme at Campal, Dr. Gaude highlighted the importance of sustained care and responsibility towards the environment. He announced that every sapling planted during the drive would be entrusted to the respective office staff for regular maintenance and protection.

Emphasising the department’s commitment to environmental conservation, Dr. Gaude remarked that the responsibility for nurturing the saplings would continue even after the retirement of the staff members involved, reflecting a culture of long-term stewardship.
He stated that the initiative is not intended to be a one-day ceremonial activity but a sustained effort aimed at preserving and enhancing the environment for future generations. The plantation drive, he added, represents the department’s enduring commitment to ecological conservation and the creation of a greener and healthier Goa.
