PONDA: Ponda locals demanded that the concerned authorities take appropriate safety measures while digging roads for laying natural gas lines, which are leading to accidents.
A local, Viraj Sapre complained to the officials involved in laying the natural gas lines that the roads dug by them are causing accidents and called upon them to adopt safety measures to prevent fatalities in future.
He said recently two accidents occurred in Ponda wherein riders while negotiating the trenches sustained injuries after falling off and were later hospitalised. “It is now several years, the work is going on and the roads dug for laying gas lines,” he added.
