CUNCOLIM: A truck carrying crushed stones overturned at Kital after its driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle amid heavy rainfall.
The driver sustained injuries in the accident and required immediate medical attention. However, locals alleged that an ambulance was not available when emergency services were contacted. The injured driver was subsequently taken to hospital in a private vehicle.

The incident has once again raised concerns among residents over the availability of emergency ambulance services in the Cuncolim constituency.
Locals recalled that similar concerns had surfaced after two fatal accidents in the area a few days ago. At the time, residents had expressed anger over the alleged non-availability of an ambulance, following which an ambulance was reportedly made available.
Residents said the latest incident has renewed their demand for a dedicated and readily available ambulance service in the constituency.
They have warned the government that if an ambulance is not provided, they may resort to a road blockade to press for immediate action.
