PONDA: A container truck and milk supplying truck collided head on at a sharp turn at Anmod Ghat, Mollem, on Friday, injuring the driver and cleaner of the milk supplying truck.
The container was coming to Goa loaded with material for one chocolate company at Usgao while Nandini Milk truck was proceeding to Belgaum after distributing milk to Goa. The accident occurred around 1 pm.
The injured duo was shifted to PHC Dharbandora, who received head and body injuries.
However, the container driver luckily escaped unhurt as the container truck went off the road and about to fall into a valley, it rested on the tree, after damaging the roadside railings. Had the container fell into the steep valley, there were fewer chances for the driver to survive. However, he miraculously escaped unhurt. Collem Police rushed to the site after receiving the information.
