MAPUSA: Two cottages of HK Hospitality at Assagao were partially destroyed in fire while the workers were carrying out wielding work, on Friday.
According to the Mapusa Fire Station officials, they received a call at 4.30 pm informing that two cottages have caught fire at the Four Road, in Assagao. Immediately, a team led by Station in Charge Bosco Ferrao rushed to the spot and started with the fire fighting operation.
The sources informed that the welding work was undergoing on the first floor of the wooden cottage. A spark led to the fire, which the worker noticed and immediately informed the owner. The fire personnel with the support of working staff dosed fire. The owner has claimed a loss of around two lakh.
“I will write a letter to the Electricity Department to check the exact cause of fire,” informed Ferrao.
