VASCO: Mormugao Police arrested two persons, including a minor boy, in connection with the sexual assault on a 15-year-old girl on October 3, last year. While the minor boy has been arrested on charges of kidnapping and raping the girl, the victim’s uncle was arrested on charges of molesting her.

According to Mormugao PI Suresh Gaonkar, the girl’s mother complained that some persons kidnapped her daughter on October 3, 2012. Acting on the complaint, Mormugao Police conducted a search of the minor girl and the accused in Goa and in the neighbouring state, but failed to nab the victim and the culprits.

Police said on Thursday when the victim came back home, the family along with the girl visited the Mormugao police station and when the family questioned the girl where she was, she informed that she along with the minor boy first visited Mumbai and later went to Allahabad.

Police stated that when the family sought to know about the whereabouts of the accused, the girl informed them that the accused will either be travelling to Mumbai or Allahabad.

Accordingly, Mormugao Police on Thursday sent their police teams to Margao bus stand and railway station, where police caught the boy while boarding a train to Mumbai. Police later arrested the boy on charges of kidnapping and raping the minor girl. The accused was later sent to Apna Ghar at Merces.

Police said that during further interrogation, the girl revealed that her uncle had called her to his room and had molested her.

Mormugao Police further informed that the girl brought to the notice of the boy that she was molested by her uncle. Later, the boy kidnapped her and took her to Mumbai and then to Allahabad, where she was raped, which has been confirmed by the medical report. Police arrested the girl’s uncle on charges of molesting the girl.
