VASCO: Two persons were arrested in two different narcotics raids carried out by Vasco and Mormugao Police on Monday night.
In the first raid conducted near Marine Resort in Dabolim, the Vasco Police team arrested Ashish Parsekar.
Parsekar (23), resident of New Vaddem-Vasco was found in illegal possession of 820 grams of ganja worth Rs 82, 000 in the international market. The offence under the NDPS Act 1985 has been registered at Vasco Police Station and PSI Rohan Nageshkar is further investigating the case.
In another raid, the Mormugao Police team based on reliable and specific information carried out search of one Ansar Shaikh (20), resident of Baina and found him in illegal possession of 201 grams of ganja worth Rs 20,000.
“The accused was on his way to deliver the drug consignment to the customer but was apprehended by the police. The accused has been arrested under NDPS Act and further investigation is in progress,” informed the police.
