CALANGUTE: Two Calangute residents were arrested with suspected drugs worth Rs 93,000 and cash at Maddawaddo in the village on Tuesday.
The Calangute police arrested Joao Lopes (46) and Nisha Govekar alias Heena Shaikh (26), both residents of Maddawaddo.
They were found in possession of 31 grams of substance suspected to be heroine worth Rs 93,000. During the raid cash amount of Rs 43,600 was also seized.
The raiding team consisted of PSI Jatin Potdar, PC Shasank Sakhalkar, PC Laximan Patekar, LPC Suhasini Gawas and LPC Deepali Harmalkar.
An offence under Section 20(b) (ii) (A) of NDPS Act has been registered.
PSI Sushant Sangodkar is investigating the case.
According to police, earlier, Lopes was involved in three theft cases and one drugs peddling case. A history sheet is being opened against him. This is the 30th case to be booked this year under NDPS Act.
