MARGAO: The United Goans Democratic Party on Friday released the names of three candidates for the Vasco, Ponda and Saligao Assembly constituencies.
UGDP Secretary General Anacleto Viegas said that Hitesh Naik will contest from Ponda, Francisco Colaco from Saligao and Abbas from Vasco constituency.
Replying to a question, he said the UGDP will contest around 12-15 seats and the Goa Vikas Party will field candidates for the remaining seats. “We hope to win around seven seats”, he said, adding that the people of
Asked whether the UGDP will support to the BJP to form the next government, Viegas said the party would support the government based on a minimum common programme. “No one would be able to take the UGDP for granted. We will extend support issue based”, he said.
Replying to another question, he said that the GVP will field a candidate against the Chief Minister in Margao constituency.
