Truck drivers entering Goa from Maharashtra have to pay Rs 500 to obtain a permit to enter the state at the Patradevi check post in Pernem. However, there is just one person operating the tollbooth thus causing a long delay in the issue of receipts. Around 100 to 150 trucks line up over a stretch of nearly 1 to 3 km for hours.
The drivers face a lot of inconveniences, as they have to park their trucks and walk for over at least a km and wait in line for hours to collect the receipts, thus delaying their onward journey. They have requested the Goa govt to pay heed to the matter and resolve the issue immediately.
