United Team Goa will defeat BJP: Vijai

MARGAO: Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai on the floor of the House said he was glad to have opportunity to voice out the strong concern and opposition of the people of Goa as “this government has become tone deaf to the cries and rallies of the people who are simply saying enough is enough.”

Sardesai responding to the Governor’s address hit out and cornered the government over the river Mhadei issue, double tracking and the three  linear projects saying, “The assembly session has given the people clear proof that this government is on a fast track to sell Goa now.”

Sardesai expressed that “the students of Goa want to save Goa now from coal, the three linear projects, but the government emboldened with its victory of the Zilla Polls has put up its agenda of Sell Goa Now.”

Vijai reflected on the business of the 4 days of the session saying  “most of us think we are here to discuss and debate the priorities we deem are important to the people but in reality the government is here discussing how to hurt people and destroy their livelihoods.” He pointed out that the opposition kept standing up yesterday for division during voting on several articles of legislations saying, “Team Goa has guts to fight this undemocratic Team BJP.”

The Fatorda MLA declared that “we only raised placards, but what the government did by arresting our children on Liberation Day behind the backs of the Vice President visit was not only shameful, and disgraceful – but ruthless.” Sardesai highlighted that “when people question the Govt, they trample on women. When youth question Govt they are arrested. When we question the Govt, we are anti-nationals. But if Adani and Jindal question the Govt, it runs to Delhi with answers.”

Sardesai cautioned the Goa CM by saying that  “if you go with the diktats of your bosses in Delhi, you will be consigned to the dustbin of history. You are a government on the run! A corrupt Government that wants to dismantle the institution of the Lokayukta so that no one stops the loot & plunder.”

Sardesai concluded saying, “more than Swayampurna Goem, we need to sustain Goa, as this Sawantwadi government is driving us to the pits of doom.”
