PERNEM: Uttam Veer has been elected unopposed as the sarpanch of Torxem Village Panchayat, on Tuesday.
The post of sarpanch was vacant following the resignation of former sarpanch Ashok Sawal. A special meeting was held at the panchayat office, wherein Uttam Veer was declared elected unopposed.
Application of Veer was suggested by Baban De’Souza and seconded by panch Suryakant Toraskar. Deputy Sarpanch Sundari Naik, panch Ashok Sawal, Suryakant Toraskar, Baban Desauja, Prarthana Mote, Vilas Shetye were also present.
