Teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has once again become one of the biggest talking points of IPL 2026 after a stunning season with Rajasthan Royals. The youngster has scored 583 runs in 14 matches this year, building on his breakthrough IPL 2025 campaign where he managed 252 runs in just seven games.His fearless batting has already sparked conversations about a future India call-up, but IPL chairman Arun Dhumal believes the teenager’s journey must be managed carefully.Speaking to The Times of India ahead of the IPL Eliminator, Dhumal stressed that both the BCCI and Rajasthan Royals have an important responsibility in shaping the young cricketer’s future.
“I feel the BCCI and the franchise would need to handhold him in terms of showing him the right way so that his temperament stays intact.

Because sport is not only about physical skill, it is also about mental toughness,” Dhumal said.The IPL chairman also assured that Indian cricket’s governing body would do everything possible to help the youngster succeed at the highest level for years to come.“And definitely, we will do our bit to make sure that the kind of skill set he has allows him to perform for India for many, many years to come,” he added.Sooryavanshi has already taken a step closer to the national setup after being included in the India A squad for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka, where Tilak Varma will lead the side.Meanwhile, the youngster remains crucial to Rajasthan Royals’ hopes of winning their first IPL title since 2008. Sooryavanshi has dominated bowlers in the powerplay this season, scoring 430 runs at a strike rate of 230.As RR continue their playoff campaign, all eyes will once again be on the teenage star.
