Valpoi, Pernem trial courts non-functional: Mapusa MLA

PANJIM, JULY 28 Mapusa MLA Francis D'Souza voiced strong concern over the non-functioning of each trial Courts at Valpoi and Pernem. He was speaking during the discussion session in the on-going monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.

Mapusa MLA Francis D’Souza voiced strong concern over the non-functioning of each trial Courts at Valpoi and Pernem.
He was speaking during the discussion session in the on-going monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday. “There are no judges for any case trial at each of these two courts. This vacancy should be filled for regular functioning of the courts,” he said.
Whilst, he suggested, that judges should reside in the same vicinity where they are posted. He said the construction of a new building complex in the 20,000 sq mtrs land at Merces, was nearly perfect. The construction will house around 20 courts and accommodate its respective judges, prosecutors, lawyers, administrative staff and others.
