VALPOI: The officials from Valpoi Zonal Agriculture Office inspected the agricultural fields in Mauxi village and assured the farmers full support from the zonal office and the Agriculture Department, recently.
Besides, the NABARD officials also reportedly met the villagers and assured to help them through the irrigation scheme.
“Through the community farming project, the Agriculture Department will provide us with agricultural facilities. The project of community farming will cost nearly Rs 1 crore and will make our village an agriculture village in Sattari taluka. We are very happy that the Valpoi zonal officers have offered to support to us,” Mauxi Farmers’ Society Chairman Krishna Gaonkar said.
“We visited Mauxi village and we have seen the agriculture fields. NABARD is ready to help the Mauxi village farming society by sanctioning Rs 1.47 lakh for their irrigation scheme. Once the scheme is implemented, all farmers from Mauxi will receive water supply to their fields,” NABARD official Sahil Naik said.
