Several fish vendors from Vasco Market gathered outside the Mormugao Municipal Council on Monday over the sale of fish on roadsides and in wholesale markets. Fish vendors led by Custodio D’Souza warned the MMC of selling fish from the Municipality building if the wholesalers and roadside vendors are not stopped.
However, the MMC Chairperson Leo Rodrigues stated that the wholesale markets had been closed by the MMC long ago and if any other wholesale shops were still open, they will be shut immediately.
