Vasco police succeeded in apprehending the 50-year-old theft accused P . Ramesh who had escaped from lawful custody when he was taken for a medical examination at Goa Medical College in Bambolim.
The police with technical assistance formed two teams and tracked his location in Tamil Nadu and Belgaum. The team noticed the accused proceeding towards Vasco, Goa and apprehended him at Chicalim. The accused has been remanded 5 days of police custody. Further investigations are on.
The accused from Andhra Pradesh was arrested in a theft case at Vasco in February. As one of the constables was collecting his medical report, the accused fled from the hospital in April. After the incident, two constables who had accompanied the accused were suspended.
