VASCO: Acting on a complaint filed by Mariambi Shaik, Vasco Police registered an offence against a man from Katem-Baina for allegedly kidnapping her son.
According to Vasco Police, Mariambi of Katem-Baina complained that on April 13, 2013, at about 8.30 pm, the accused approached them on the pretext of providing a job to her son, Imtiyaz Ahamad Shaik (28).
Mariyambi further stated that the accused forcefully took her son with him against their wish and since then there was no contact of Imtiyaz with the rest of the family.
Mariyambi further stated that efforts by their family members to trace Imtiyaz proved futile. As Mariyambi and her family could not trace Imtiyaz, she finally lodged a complaint against the accused with Vasco Police on September 18.
The complainant further stated that she suspects that her son has been kidnapped and kept at an undisclosed location and sought police help to trace her son.
When contacted, PSI Harish Gawas said when police reached the residence of the accused, they found the house closed.
“Acting on the complaint of Mariambi, Vasco Police registered an offence against the accused under Section 365 of IPC and police is investigating the case,” informed PSI Gawas.
