MARGAO: Several depositors of Visionary Credit Co-operative Society (VCCS) on Thursday demanded arrest of alleged accused former chairperson and immediate suspension of Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (ARCS) Officer Rajesh Pawar along with 11 others involved in the fraud.
At a press conference held here, the Visionary Credit Co-operative Society depositors demanded the arrest of the former chairperson and 11 others who are involved in the alleged scam and also thorough investigation of all the branch managers and staff of all the four branches involved therein.
Marian Jude Fernandes, the administrator of Visionary Credit Co-operative Society along with the core committee members briefed on the issue.
“It’s been two years since the government is bluffing us. Neither the investigation nor proper audit has been done since then. If our demands are not met within 20 days then we will protest,” threatened Fernandes.
“Minister of Co-operative Society Govind Gaude in support of the accused says there is no point in arresting the alleged fraudsters as they are capable of getting a release within a day, we are asking him if he is ready with her anticipatory bail,’’ questioned Fernandes.
“If the government doesn’t support us at our bad times we will not support the government in the upcoming Assembly elections,” said Joes Dias.
