MARGAO: The Judicial Magistrate First Class reserved its order into the Velim Church assault case to October 17.
The JMFC was hearing the arguments into the case wherein the lawyer representing the accused argued on the non-application of Section 307 while the Public Prosecutor argued that JMFC has no jurisdiction in deciding the matters of section 307.
Arguing on the application of section 307 in the case, the lawyer representing the accused said, “According to the medical report, the injuries found on the victims’ body were ‘simple injuries’ and the report testifies the same. The application of 307 doesn’t arise.
Meanwhile, Public Prosecutor Shilpa Nagvenkar has argued that the JMFC has no jurisdiction in deciding the matters of section 307 and that it is sessions trial case.
