MAPUSA: Social distancing and curfew norms were ignored at a late-night party in Arpora where there was a major scuffle between two groups, video of which have since gone viral.
In the videos, boys are seen kicking, punching and even trying to slam each other with glass bottles. Some girls are seen trying to protect a boy who was being beaten up badly.
Sources informed that these videos are of a party that was organised last weekend by a Russian national at private villa at Arpora. Sources claimed that it was a farewell party cum get-together for a Russian native who was heading back to her country.
During this party, there was a fight amongst the youngsters as seen in the video, which escalated into a heated brawl.
Sources further claimed that there was another incident, after one group left the party. This incident led to damage to a car as can be seen in the pictures that had gone viral as well. Sources claimed that there was an altercation between this group and some locals.
After the party was over, the parent of a one of the boys got to know about the fight and that his son was beaten up. He then filed a complaint at the local police station, demanding action be initiated against the accused persons.
Anjuna police has registered an FIR but have however declined to share more information. Questions were raised as to how such a party was organised post the prevailing curfew timings and rules on large gatherings.
