PORVORIM: Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has alleged Rs 182 crore scam by the IT department in providing broadband connectivity to Goa, by extending the contract four times.
The contract was to be completed in 2019. The CAG report said in 2015 that the connectivity was poor. In 2022 the Finance Dept said there were major technical deviations.
Price Water Coopers had recommended for replacement of the service provider, but CM extended the contract four times and in August 2023, it was again extended till 2027.
Sardesai demanded a House Committee or a Judicial investigation into what he called a scam.
