Vincent is PMC dy chairperson

Vincent Fernandes was on Wednesday unanimously elected deputy chairperson of Ponda Municipal Council (PMC).
It may be recalled that the post of deputy chairperson had fallen vacant following the resignation by former deputy chairperson Vandana Jog after she lost support of the councillors.
Mapusa Deputy Collector Mr Redkar, who was the election officer for the meeting, declared Fernandes elected unopposed as deputy chairperson, as only one candidate had filed nomination papers for the post.
Besides Fernandes, Chairperson Shailendra Shinkre, Councillors Damodar Naik, Subhash Dinkar Mundaye, Diskha Naik, Pradeep Naik, Kishore Naik and Sanjay Naik from the ruling group were present, while only Venkatesh Naik from the opposition group attended the meeting.
