PANJIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday rubbished claims made by the Congress of having more audio tapes of him trying to unseat the Chief Minister, saying the party can continue playing the “doctored tapes”.
Speaking to media persons, Rane said, Congress has no other work and they are just trying to create a sensation. “They are just using doctored tapes. I have already written to the CM for an inquiry,” he said.
Rane said elections are round the corner and hence this is going on. “I have no tension, let them try to defame me. I am not bothered at least till the people and the CM have trust in me. It is the role of the opposition to defame the ruling party and it should be ignored,” he said, adding, “They should go on playing the tapes as they have learned the art of doctoring things.”
Rane questioned why the Congress leadership could not authenticate the tape in Parliament. “There is no point in talking about tape when their leader could not authenticate the tape in Parliament. This shows the flaws in their scheme. For them I am always a threat and I will continue to be a threat,” he said.
Rane stated that Congress could not get even five people to stand with their flag in Sattari, which is their worry as victory depends on these five seats. “Hence they are trying to create miscommunication between me and the chief minister and party leaderships. So don’t read too much into this. I am firmly with BJP and these tactics will not help.”
