PANJIM: Even as BJP legislator Vishnu Surya Wagh withdrew his controversial remark against Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar, the party has accused the St Andre MLA of willingly keeping aloof from the party.
BJP Goa unit chief Vinay Tendulkar alleged that Wagh has not been responding to calls since the past couple of weeks. “Not just me, Chief Minister Laxmikar Parsekar also called him several times but Wagh refused to pick the phone. Sangathan Mantri Satish Dhond too had scheduled a meeting with him at 3 pm on Thursday, but the MLA didn’t turn up,” he told Herald.
Asked whether party will take any disciplinary action against its legislator for his anti-party remarks, Tendulkar said party has not taken any decision as yet.
Wagh’s Facebook post on Friday that Parrikar had instructed party ministers and MLAs to distance themselves from him, had many likes as well as criticisms from FB users. A day later, he withdrew his comment.
Parrikar has refused to react to Wagh’s remark.
