MARGAO: Water consumers in Salcete and Mormugao talukas will receive restricted water supply from the Selaulim water treatment plant on Friday.
Executive Engineer S R Paranjapee informed Herald that water supply to the two talukas will be restricted on account of work of replacement of a water pump. Work of replacing the water pump will begin on Friday morning at 8 am and expected to be completed within five hours.
“Out of the eight pumps, only four pumps would be in operation during the progress of the work. Since only four pumps will be in operation, water consumers will receive restricted supply on Friday”, Paranjapee said, adding that the situation should stabilise by Friday evening.
He pointed out that the PWD had got the first pump replaced a month ago, adding that the replacement and installation of the new pumps would help improve water supply to the two talukas
