Water supply to most parts of South Goa was disrupted on Saturday, when the Selaulim pipeline burst at Paroda.
According to sources at the Water Resources Department, the pipeline burst at Gudi-Paroda and efforts were on to repair the ruptured pipeline. Water supply is expected to be restored by 3.30 am on Sunday.
Though the weak concrete pipeline from Selaulim to Mullas-Paroda has been replaced with a MS pipeline, water supply was shut down at Selaulim, to enable workers to repair the damaged pipe at Guddi-Paroda.
The pipeline from Mullas to Mormugao is yet to be replaced with an MS pipeline, posing further threats of further ruptures along the weak concrete pipe.
