PANJIM: Panjim Police on Sunday arrested a 29-year-old Karnataka resident for allegedly murdering his friend, whose body was found at Caranzalem beach.
Police arrested one Mohanrao Kesarkar for allegedly murdering his friend, a migrant labourer 35-year-old Samir alias Chotu.
Police suspect that the murder took place after an altercation broke out between the two over some previous enmity. Police sources said as per the information, both, residing near old post office Caranzalem, visited the beach at night after consuming alcohol. Both were employed by local fishermen.
Further investigation into the case is underway. The accused will be produced before the court on Monday.
