Garbage is dumped on the main road near Holy Cross Chapel, opposite Goa Velha market, which is not even 100 metres from Goa Velha Village Panchayat office. I have taken up the issue with MLA of St Andre Viresh Borkar so many times in the last six months but nothing happened.
Being on the main road at Goa Velha market, Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral, MLAs, panchayat members, Collectors and Deputy Collectors pass this side so many times but no one seems to be bothered.
The garbage dump is an eyesore to people passing this side and gives a bad name to the State. Seeing the insensitivity of the authorities, I am forced to serve an ultimatum to the concerned authorities to clear
the garbage dump within 48 hours from Monday, November 14, failing which I will be forced to set the dump on fire. I should not be held responsible for the consequences thereof.
