In response to the case against GMC officials which was filed by the family of Januz Gonsalves in Agassaim, the DGP issued an Order to transfer the case to crime branch.
Interestingly the Mapusa Police Station does not
feature in the list of CC. The request for Post Mortem Examination was made by the Police Sub-Inspector of Mapusa Police Station to the HoD, Forensic Medicine Department, Goa Medical College, vide their Unnatural Death Number 92/2018 under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code, after due information to the Sub-divisional Magistrate, Mapusa, Bardez, Goa.
Incidentally, all the Original documents of the Case are with Police Inspector of Mapusa Police Station. Was it a oversight on the part of the DGP Muktesh Chander for not marking his Order to the Mapusa police station and will this oversight cause a delay in investigation?
