Pauskar inspected the ongoing repair work of the pumping station at the plant, which was rendered non-functional due to flooding.

It may be recalled that on Friday morning when the Mhadei River was flooded the Opa River was overflowing and the water level rose up and submerged the pumping station making it non-functional.

PWD Minister said that he has directed the Water Resources Department engineer to interact with the Supa Dam officials and find out whether the dam water was released.

“Some sources are claiming that the water from the Supa Dam, which is based on Kali River, reaches Karwar and there is no possibility of water reaching to Goa. However, the official is asked to find out the truth. If the water is over flown to Opa then we will take action,” he added.
