The court that heard the case on Tuesday adjourned it for July 28 on the grounds that the Advocate General might want to make a statement as permissions were granted by the Goa government and several of its departments for the establishment of the golf course resort.
The other reason for the adjournment was the submission of a note by Leading Hotels that said if the PIL writ petition would be fixed for final hearing in the short term, they would restrict their activity to construction of two villas in survey number 5/6 of the Tiracol village.
Villagers through the St Anthony’s Mundkar Tenancy Association (SAMTA) have objected to the proposal demanding a complete stay on the project.
The counsel for the petitioners, Norma Alvares on Tuesday said she would submit all the documents opposing construction of the two villas by Monday to Leading Hotels. The matter is now adjourned to Tuesday for further consideration of the prayer for interim stay of the project.
