QUEPEM: The Sanvordem and Kalay villagers on Friday said that they are facing problem of getting the income, domicile and caste certificates for Griha Aadhar Scheme issued by the talathi, due to the failure of computer systems, at both the panchayats.

According to the villagers, the computer systems at Sanvordem and Kalay panchayats have not been functioning for the last seven months.  “There is no issue regarding the talathi’s work. He is always regular on his duty in both the panchayats. But due to failure of computer systems, people have to travel to the Sanguem Deputy Collector’s office for residential, income and caste certificates for the Griha Aadhar Scheme,” said Arjun Naik, a local from Sanvordem village.

Talathi Naresh Naik, who handles the work of both the panchayats, said that the computer systems at both the panchayats are not functioning for the last seven months. The repair work was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the State. I have already informed about it to the Sanguem Mamlatdar.

Sanguem Mamlatdar said that the repair work of computer systems was delayed as the annual maintenance contract was finished and due to COVID-19 pandemic. I assure it will be repaired by next week.

Sanvordem Panchayat Sarpanch Sandip Pawaskar said that the panchayat has been following the issue with the Sanguem Mamlatdar and he has assured us to do the repair work by next week.

When contacted Sanguem Deputy Collector Ajay Gawade said, “I was not aware about the problem of computer systems failure at Sanvordem and Kalay panchayats. I later immediately called the talathi and asked for a report on the situation.”
