A 55-year-old woman was killed after an unknown vehicle knocked her down at Chogm road, Sangolda, on Sunday morning.
According to Porvorim police, the accident occurred when Lira Fernandes had gone for a morning walk at about 5.30 am. The doctors at GMC Hospital in Bambolim declared Fernandes, who had sustained grievous injuries as dead on admission.The vehicle driver fled from the site after the accident. Police have registered a hit-and-run case under Sections 279 and 304 A of IPC and Section 134 (A) (B) of Motor Vehicles Act. PSI K P Sinari is investigating the case.
