Woman killed under train wheels at Vasco

A 40-year-old widow from Karnataka, but residing at Asoidongri-Chicalim died, after a speeding local passenger train hit her while crossing the railway track near the airport railway bridge at Chicalim on Tuesday morning.
According to Vasco Railway Police, Kashturi Gangawa died when she was dashed by speeding ‘Vasco-Kulem’ local train.
It is learnt that the deceased had failed to notice the train, as when the train reached under the bridge and since bushes are grown up close to the track, she failed to notice the train while crossing the track.
Police informed that the deceased was working as labourer in a bottling unit in Sancoale and she was rushing to catch a bus at the airport stop. Vasco Police have registered a case of unnatural death.
