MARGAO: Margao police have registered a case of attempt to suicide after a 25-year-old mother of two minor children, hailing from Miraj and residing at Mandopa, Navelim, tried to end her life by setting
herself on fire.
PSI Melson Colaco said the victim has been identified as Sapora Khaza Sayyad, who is in critical condition having suffered 80 per cent burn injuries and shifted to Goa Medical College Hospital, Bambolim.
Since the incident has occurred within seven years of marriage, the police have requested the sub-divisional magistrate to record her statement.
