PANJIM: Taking the bull by the horns, the Goa Su-Raj party has vowed to campaign against pornographic- websites that promote Goa as a sex destination.
As part of its ‘This is Goa! Respect It’ campaign the party has announced that not only will it lobby with the police to act against these sites, but will also take legal recourse against these sites.
“GSRP will be filing a petition in the Goa bench of Bombay High Court later this week asking for the Court to intervene in the matter of blocking pornographic websites which promote Goa as a sex destination,” Savio Rodrigues, Secretary & President (Youth Affairs), GSRP revealed.
“So far we have investigated that there are about 22 websites camouflaged as escort site, that sell services of prostitutes in the guise of escorts,” he added.
As part of its exercise, volunteers of the GSRP have even interacted with some of these online pimps as customers to gather the requisite details. They claim that it is a highly professional network of operations that extend to hotels and casinos in the state.
“In all the websites Goa is being promoted as sex haven. Some of these sites originate from international markets such as London and Moscow, while most originate from Delhi,” Rodrigues claimed.
The GSRP has also said that it will train its guns on various massage parlors functioning as prostitution dens in the state in particular key tourist areas and towns. Goa government last year had cracked down on most massage parlors but the menace continues.
