PANJIM: The Water Resources Department (WRD) has written to the Chief Town planner of the Town and Country Planning department raising objection to the illegal construction in the command area of Tillari project at Nagoa Village in Bardez taluka.
Melwin Fernandes, a resident of Margao had submitted a written complaint to Secretary WRD on the illegal structure constructed by an individual in a property at Nagoa that falls under command area.
The complainant claimed that the zone of the land was changed illegally and without the knowledge and without obtaining any approval of Water Resources Department.
After receiving a complaint, a site inspection was carried out by the engineer concerned of the WRD and it was found that the said property falls under the command area of Tillari Irrigation project. And, also no NOC has been recommended by Water Resources Department to the said property for construction of house or any other type of development.
The Water Resources Department Executive Engineer has written to the Chief Town Planner of the TCP requesting him to denotify the ODP in respect of command area in order to restrict the secondary development.
