VALPOI: Sanket Shankar Sawant, 27, from Kundai, drowned on Sunday evening at Movacho Guno in Sonal village, Valpoi.
He along with three friends came here to beat the heat. While having a bath in the river, he drowned. His friends rushed him to the Valpoi Health Centre but by then he was having breathing problems and passed away. Valpoi police conducted the panchanama and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
Movacho guno is a famous tourist spot in Sattari and gained popularity since 2009.
